Redwood High School Foundation | Your Participation

Redwood parents’ participation and giving levels are less than half of what they were at our K-8 schools; yet the needs at Redwood are just as important.

Redwood parents have generously donated approximately $600,000 to the Redwood High School Foundation during each of the past three years. These funds helped support a wide variety of excellent programs at Redwood that would not be possible with normal school funding derived from property tax revenues, state and federal funds.

We can do more. Redwood parents have a history of giving generously to their children's K-8 programs at Redwood's four public feeder schools. This year, we ask every Redwood parent to acknowledge the importance of their student's high school education, and to give generously to the RHSF.

What is the Parent Giving Campaign?

Each year the RHSF asks parents to make a tax-deductible contribution to help improve the quality of our children's education. Your gift enhances Redwood's ability to meet our high expectations for a well rounded secondary education.

Our goal in 2007/08 is to raise a minimum of $700,000. We are asking parents to donate $900 per student, consistent with the level of support we provided our children's elementary school programs.

We also ask that every Redwood parent participate in this year's campaign - all contributions are welcome and important in reaching our goals.

How Much Should You Give?

We hope each family will contribute at the recommended level of $900 per student. We will recognize our donors in the following categories:


	$15,000+		Foundation Giant
	$10,000+		Philanthropist
	$5,000+		Benefactor
	$2,500+		Patron
	$1,300+		Major Donor
	$900+		Supporting Donor
	$500+		Donor
	up to $499		Contributor

Other Ways to Contribute

Stock Donations
The benefits of giving appreciated securities are significant. Your tax deductible donation is based on the fair market value of the security at the time of donation, if you‘ve owned the stock for one year or more. By donating the security rather than selling it, you avoid potential capital gains taxes. Please email our treasurer, Charlie Lambert, at redwoodhsf@hotmail.com to discuss stock donations.

Corporate Matching Gifts
In 2006/07 over $20,000 was contributed to our school through Corporate Matching Gift Programs. Many companies will match your contribution, often up to 100% of your gift.
Please check with your company's HR person to obtain the matching gift form.
